The Red Bull team has revealed significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its senior team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, is set to become the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. This driver musical chairs sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint. Who is Arvid Lindblad? The British teen took part in FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. The youngster was tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Talking about the company's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", commending his "natural quickness". Red Bull has had a plan since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City. Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "2026 will be a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started." He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break The French driver enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career began in difficult fashion when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive rookies of the year. His performances featured an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings. The team principal commented: "Hadjar has shown great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared". The Lawson Decision For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. He has settled back in at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he merits another season. Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's points total. The driver market moves mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
