Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance After Lending His Voice To Disputed Covid Film

Liam Neeson has given his narration to a recent film that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and lauds one-time cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Contentious Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a popular book written by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

Her collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. The producer recently posted praising Neeson's involvement in the film.

A Strong Denial

The team of Neeson have released a response pushing back against implications that he supports anti-vaccine views.

"Many recognize that unethical practices may occur within the medical sector, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His long work with Unicef highlights his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the performer had no hand in the documentary's editorial content and that questions about its claims should be directed to the producers.

Key Claims Within the Feature

In the film, the script spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "medical science has become dangerously politicised."
  • Kennedy is featured claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Historical Background and Ongoing Issues

It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.

Recently, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to alter its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is repeated in the documentary, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Past Statement of Support

Standing in contrast to the film's message, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

The documentary finishes with Neeson's narration saying, "This is not the conclusion of our story. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
